Can we return LogTags with empty batteries for disposal?
At present, LogTag Recorders does not operate a formal return or recycling program for used loggers. While the idea of recovering and reusing components may seem environmentally appealing, the reality is that the cost of disassembly, testing, and refurbishment significantly outweighs the cost of manufacturing new units. As a result, recycling loggers at scale is not commercially viable.
LogTag devices that have reached the end of their operational life — particularly those with depleted batteries — should be disposed of responsibly, in accordance with your local electronic waste and battery disposal regulations. Many councils and recycling centres offer dedicated e-waste drop-off points where small electronic devices can be safely processed.
Although LogTag Recorders doesn’t currently accept returns for disposal, they remain committed to designing reliable, long-lasting products that minimise waste through durability and performance. For guidance on how to dispose of your device properly, we recommend checking with your local environmental authority or waste management service.
